At Iceland Express you can choose between three fare options:

• Basic fare
• Flex
• Flex +

TRAVEL FEES

Depending upon your travel needs here are some of the fees you may encounter.

Basic fare

• Lowest fare available.
• Name changes subject to fee.
• Date changes subject to fee.
• Route changes subject to fee.
• No refund on cancellations. 
• Insurance available to secure refund if passenger needs to cancel flight under certain circumstances. More on cancellation insurance.
• Baggage allowance: One bag weighing no more than 20 kg. (44 lbs) — Hand baggage up to 10 kg. (22 lbs). 
• Seat selection: Subject to fee.

Flex

• No change charge for name changes.
• No change charge for date changes.
• Route changes are free of charge except when change is to more expensive route and dates. 
• Refund on fare and taxes when cancelled at least 24 hours prior to departure.
• Baggage allowance: One bag weighing no more than 20 kg. (44 lbs) — Hand baggage up to 10 kg. (22 lbs).
• Seat selection: Subject to fee.

Q&A — Flex and Flex+

-How do I select Flex/Flex+ fare when booking?
When you get to step 2 in the booking process you are given the choice between Flex/Flex+ and regular fare. Just select which one you prefer.

- Can I select Flex/Flex+ fare on all Iceland Express flights?
Yes, Flex/Flex+ fare is available on all scheduled flights.

- Are any time limits on purchasing Flex/Flex+ fare flight?
No, the same time limits apply to Flex/Flex+ fare and regular fare bookings.

- Can I buy one flight on Flex/Flex+ fare and another on regular fare in the same booking?

 Yes, but please note that Flexfare privileges only apply to flights booked on Flexfare.

- Can I change Flex/Flex+ fare booking to a regular one or vice versa?
No. When you've completed a booking, you are not able to change that booking from one price category to the other.

- How often can I make changes to my Flex/Flex+ fare booking?
There are no limitations to the number of changes, but keep in mind that any changes are only possible at least 24 hours prior to your flights departure. After that time no changes are allowed.

- Are there any extra charges involved when I change my Flex/Flex+ fare booking?
There are no fees charged for changing a Flex/Flex+ fare booking online. If you prefer to get assistance with your booking from our passenger service, you are required to pay a service fee. If you make destination or date changes inducing higher fare, you are also required to pay that difference.

- Can I use a Iceland Express gift certificate as a payment for Flex/Flex+ booking?
If your gift certificate is to an amount, you can use it as a payment for Flex/Flex+ booking. If the gift certificate is however for a full flight, it's not possible to use it as a payment.

- If I cancel my Flex/Flex+ fare booking, how will I get my refund?
You will get a refund through the same channels as you used when booking your flight. Please keep in mind that you need to cancel your booking at least 24 hours prior to departure to be eligible for a refund.

*A 1.000 ISK booking fee is charged when bookings are made on the web. If a booking is done through our call center an additional 1.500 ISK is charged. ** Fare difference charged additionally where applicable.

SURPLUS WEIGHT FEE*

*Surplus weight charge is required for each suitcase weighing more than 20 kg (44 lbs). The maximum weight of one suitcase can although never be more than 32 kg (70 lbs).
