That’s what the Iceland Circle Express offers. Taking advantage of Iceland’s long daylight hours, this whistle-stop tour means you’ll get to see more of this stunning country from its geysers and fjords to its lakes and glaciers. The tour includes accommodation in Reykjavik, Hvolsvöllur, Höfn, Lake Mývatn and Skagafjörður.

Day 1: Welcome to Iceland
On arrival at Keflavik airport you will be met by our friendly representative who will hand you the keys to your rental car. We recommend you stop off at the Blue Lagoon and visit the fishing village Grindavik. From Grindavik, take the Sudurstrandavegur on your way to the charming villages of Eyrabakki and Stokkeyri. Your day ends at Hvolsvollur where you will stay at Hotel Hvolsvollur or similar. Driving distance: 165 km.

Day 2: Along southern shores
Today, you will drive from Hvolsvollur to the amazing black sand beaches of Vík and then continue to Skaftafell National Park, one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. After you visit Skaftafell, you will stop at the picturesque Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon on your way to the village of Höfn. Your night’s accommodation will be at hotel Höfn or similar. Driving distance: 354 km.

Day 3: Get lost in the Lava Maze
On day three, you will drive from Höfn to Lake Mývatn in the northeast part of Iceland. Around Mývatn you will find some must-see attractions such as the Námaskarð pass and the amazing lava maze of Dimmuborgir. You will stay at Hotel Reykjahlíð or similar in the Mývatn area. Driving distance: 412 km. 

Day 4: Waterscapes galore
On day four, you will begin by exploring Lake Mývatn and its beautiful surroundings before heading off to Akureyri, stopping on the way to enjoy the stunning Goðafoss waterfalls. From Akureyri, you will head on to Skagafjörður where you will stay the night at Hotel Varmahlið or similar. Driving distance: 193 km.

Day 5: Mountains and magnificent nature pearls
Today, you will make your way via the Kjölur highland road to Iceland’s vibrant capital. Along the way, you’ll get to see some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland including Þingvellir National Park, the waterfall Gullfoss, the great Geysir area and Kerið. After all this, you will arrive in Reykjavik in the late afternoon and spend the night at Hotel Frón or similar. Driving distance: 345 km.

Day 6: Departure day
On your final day you will drive from Reykjavik to Keflavík for your connecting flight with Iceland Express. Return the rental car at Keflavik international airport. Driving distance: 47 km

The accommodation in this package consists of quality tourist class hotels or well-appointed guesthouses featuring comfortable rooms with private shower or bath and WC. All provide breakfast (included in the price) and most have their own restaurant.

NOTE: Kjölur Mountain is usually open from mid June and until the first week in September. If you book this tour outside that time period then you will drive the ring road back to Reykjavik on Day 5.
