Iceland Express Puts Seating Choice at Passengers' Fingertips

With Iceland Express’ new seat-booking program, passengers can pick exactly which seat they would like, and move faster through security.
July 13, 2007, Reykjavík, Iceland – In a move that continues their focus on customer service in the low cost airline industry, Iceland Express has introduced the option of seat choice to their online booking process.
Passengers will now have the chance to reserve specific seats for their trip, including window, aisle, and seats with extra legroom. The booking program also shows which seats have been reserved, giving passengers more information when choosing their desired location.
“We know that many of our passengers will welcome this service,” said Valgeir Bjarnason, Route Development Manager for Iceland Express.
“For passengers with specific seating requirements, a quick connecting flight, or people who just want to get a seat next to each other, this is a real necessity.”
As an introductory offer, passengers who reserve seats with extra legroom on flights from Keflavík (KEF), Iceland will receive free Fast Track passes. These passes will grant access to a separate, speedy security checkpoint normally reserved for other airline’s business class ticket-holders. This service coincides with the deal that Iceland Express brokered to allow all of its London Stansted travelers Fast Track passes at that airport until September.
