Iceland Express continues to thrive.

Since conception Iceland Express has continued to grow despite pressure from flag-carrier Iceland Air, in the form of their ‘dirty tricks’ campaign.

According to the Iceland Tourism Board, tourism to Iceland was up by 13% in 2003 and by 14% in 2004 due largely to Iceland Express, as the majority of the country’s tourists enter Iceland by air. Icelanders have increased their travelling too, with a rise of some 35% since Iceland Express first took to the air.

The emergence of Iceland Express has helped open up new opportunity to travellers, by making Iceland more accessible than ever. As the country’s first low fare airline, Iceland Express have attracted those who never considered Iceland as a getaway destination and have acheived overwelming national support from Icelander’s who can now afford to travel more often than before.

Iceland Express flies from Reykjavik to London Stansted and Copenhagen daily, with fare’s starting from just £123 return. Such cost-effective pricing means that Iceland is somewhere you can visit again and again. The spectacular waterfalls, heartstopping geysers, the beautiful hotsprings and geothermal spas, bursting volcanoes, adreneline fueled adventures and hedonistic nightlife are now less than three hours away.

The best prices are available online at Iceland Express.com, as well as great deals on adventure tours, hotels, accommodation and car rental. Prices are not affected by weekend stays, so whether you are going for business or pleasure, when you travel is up to you.

Olafur Hauksson, PR Manager for Iceland Express commented, “The success of Iceland Express since launch, has proved the need for our service as reflected in the tourism growth. Our ambition was to make Iceland a more accessible and popular destination and thats exactly what we have done. ”
