For the discerning fisherman, Iceland has long been one of the worlds most sought after destinations, although the quality of its salmon rivers has long been married by a hefty cost enabling only a privileged few to take advantage. New opportunities are on the horizon however following a partnership between Iceland’s low fare carrier Iceland Express and the Reykjavik Angling Club, who are providing a cut price solution that will make the experience more accessible.
From just £595 per person, the package includes return flights from London Stansted, transfers, two nights accommodation in the lodge, fishing permit, guide, food and rod. This three day, two night package takes visitors to the Nordura and Laxá Kjos rivers which remain consistent from early June to late September.

Flights leave London Stansted at 12:15, arriving 14:05 local time. Fishing begins at 16:00 until 22:00 due to the late night sun. Dinner is cooked by the chalets chef, who will be happy to rustle up the catch of the day. The following day, fishing starts at 07:00 until 13:00 when they’ll be a break for lunch and fishing again in the evening. The third day allows for three hours fishing in the morning followed by a trip to one of Iceland’s outdoor spas on route to the airport for the 15:00 return flight.
